She's feeling better!

I just got off the phone with her, and it was good to hear her sweet voice. She's still sounds pretty weak, probably also related to not being able to eat much. But...she's feeling better too! And that's awesome!

And Doug is stirring up some mashed potatoes for her, as that was something that sounded appetizing to her. (Way to go, Doug! :) It makes me thankful that she has such a good hubby, who's been doing such a wonderful job taking care of her and the kids, and thankful for my other sister Michelle for being out there to help now as well!

Thank you SO much for your prayers!

Melissa and Doug,
I just want you to know you are both in our prayers daily. I pray that you will see the good of this as you go through it and not have to wait until it's over to catch the blessing that is meant for you! Doug, I can't imagine how hard it is for you, watching your wife go through this, hang in there and don't let yourself get discouraged. We love you both and your children are such a blessing to your family. Love, Tom and Kathy Cramer

A verse for your day:

Song of Solomon 2:6 "His left hand is under my head, and his right arm embraces me."

Just think God himself holds Melissa and Dough' heads with his left arm and God himself embraces Melissa and Doug with his Right arm.

Melissa, This past Tuesday, I awoke feeling fearful. My sickness from chemo was disappearing but fear was creeping in. I told the Lord I did not want to be afraid. That very day my mother brought me a piece of paper. My father had found it in their basement. She did not know what I was struggling with that day. (I'm a number 11) Here it is! Please know we think about you, my friends ask about you and we PRAY FOR YOU!

HOW TO LIVE WITHOUT FEAR

1. Fear is loneliness for God. THEREFORE, I will live today in His presence and receive His strength to “Fear Not!” Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

2. Fear is misspent reverence. THEREFORE: I will live with awe and wonder and not fearfulness. Psalm 25:14 “The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him, and He will show them His covenant.”

3. Fear is the absence of love. God’s perfect love casts out our fears. Fear implies judgment. Therefore; I will live as a totally loved and completely forgiven person. My heart is Love’s home. I John 4:18 “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.”

4. Fear is holding onto the past. It is the anticipation of the repetition of past pain. THEREFORE: I will accept forgiveness and forgive everything and everyone in the past. I will let go of the past. Isaiah 43:1 “But know, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob. And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I redeemed you; I have called you by your name, You are Mine.”

5. Fear is a traitor to the future. THEREFORE: I will live in the now as the only moment I have. Things never work out; God works out things. Romans 8:28: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

6. Fear is estrangement from myself. What I fear in others, I first fear in myself. THEREFORE, in response to God’s unqualified acceptance, I will embrace myself worthy of my own affirmation and encouragement. I Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I but the grace of God which was with me.”

7. Fear is hurt and rejection. What others do and say hurts me because of my false idea that others can love me as much as I need to be loved. The secret of life is that the need to be loved is satisfied only by loving as God has loved me. THEREFORE: I will find myself by losing myself in loving others. Psalm 27:1 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?”

8. Fear is feeling inadequate for the demands of life. The truth is I am inadequate. The spirit of fear comes from trying to be adequate. THEREFORE, I will admit my inadequacy and become a recipient of God’s power, love and a resourceful mind. II Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

9. Fear is rooted in distress about sickness and death. CHRIST has liberated me from this bondage. THEREFORE, I will claim my eternal life and live abundantly. Hebrews 2:14-15 “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”

10. Fear is contagious. THEREFORE, today I commit myself not to use fear as a manipulation to get what I want. I will not fear being a great person by the grace of God. Romans 12:21 “Do not be overcome by evil, but, overcome evil with good.”

11. Fear is alarm over losing control. THEREFORE, I will turn over the control of my life to the Lord’s management with His wisdom and power. Psalm 37:5 “Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him AND He shall bring it to pass.”

12. Fear is an illusion of separation from the Lord. THEREFORE, I will claim His promise that He will never leave nor forsake me. Hebrews 13:5b “…For He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’”

I THROW THE FEAR OUT THE WINDOW...FAITH WAS HERE LONG BEFORE FEAR CAME. FEAR IS NOT WELCOME...FAITH YOU ALWAYS HAVE A HOME IN OUR HEARTS!

Melissa, I look forward to seeing you at church! Your friend MELODY
